At its height during the first millennium BC, the Assyrian Empire commanded one of the ancient world’s most powerful and highly organised armies. Infantry formed the backbone of this force and included heavily equipped spearmen alongside archers and slingers. Assyrian reliefs show these different troop types working together, with archers often protected by shield bearers while spearmen provided strength in close combat.
This set represents the varied Assyrian infantry with spearmen, archers and slingers. The set includes three distinctive shield styles: large round shields, smaller round shields and tall wicker shields, providing a variety of equipment and appearances. Two double-ended standard pieces allow the modeller to select the preferred standard head by removing the unused end. Together, the varied troop types, weapons and shields provide the components needed to build a colourful and diverse Assyrian infantry force.

Test sprue
This test sprue was done without any coloring agent. There are 28 infantry with 60 assorted shields, and 16 missile troops per box. Total of 120 pcs per box. Injection pins can be twisted off the body, this way, they will come off cleanly. There are 28 long infantry shields, 16 small cone shields (Guards), and 16 large cone shields (Guards). The accessories should allow the customer to field a more versatile and complete army.
