Sdkfz 251/8 Ambulance, converted from Hanomag, complete with two stretcher cases, I made a frame work inside of the hanomag first, it has a driver as well but you can't see it in the photos, so added driver position and co driver position, then using a even more cut down driver from the Hat motorcycle and sidecar set, the one sitting in the sidecar, painted him up and added him, then once that was done and everything painted added the two stretchers and Hat Medic, , the rest of the Figures are also converted hat figures from the WW1 German Artillery and German Heavy weapons support section, the wounded man on the stretcher on the ground is from the WW1 Russian Weapons support. I kept the one medic with the red cross marked helmet in his WW1 helmet, as I have seen enough photos taken in the last months of the war with troops, including Volksturm and second line troops reissued with old WW1 kit.
The old farm building is scratch built using an old Hat cardboard Box, Yes with Hat you can use everything!!!!.
Once I had everything cut out, then glued it all together, set it aside to set, good old super glue, then using plain old kiddies plastercine I covered the walls with it, slightly embossing it with a brick wall section I had, I don't use anything else now when I comes to buildings that I make myself, then I painted it with plain old model paint, added the door and shutters with cardboard as well. then last of all the ivy going up the walls.
I'm limited on the height I can do the buildings as all my models have covers to keep the dust off of them, yep I'm a dust magnet so I do try and protect them.
Hope you enjoy the diorama.
Many thanks to Ms. Lavigne.
