Battle of Abensberg

Jan 2026

Dear HäT,
Here, I send the photos of a wargame played some months ago: The Battle of Abensberg fought in April of 1809 as part of the War of Fifth Coalition.

Although now I am working on some different projects of different historical periods, such as ancient and seven years war, I always enjoy spending some time with napoleonic wargames.

In this battle, an austrian army fought alone against the french army with its allies: Bavarians and Württemberg troops.

You can recognise bavarian infantry and artillery, austrian grenzers and Vienna volunteers, württemberg line infantry and light infantry.

The fight turned in favour of austrians, unlike in the reality, with a French army being defeated after a two hours battle.

I hope you will appreciate the wargame too.
Best regards from Milan,
Edoardo
